CALIFORNIA PRIVACY OPT-OUT POLICY
Effective Date: July 22, 2026 Last Updated: July 22, 2026
1. OUR COMMITMENT TO PRIVACY
Freelancer LLC (“FREELANCER,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the privacy, dignity, and personal information of every passenger, prospective passenger, Partner-Chauffeur, business partner, applicant, website visitor, and individual who interacts with the FREELANCER digital platform.
The FREELANCER Executive Mobility Experience is founded upon professionalism, discretion, security, and trust. Those principles extend beyond the transportation experience and guide how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information.
This California Privacy Opt-Out Policy explains how California residents may exercise certain privacy rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, collectively referred to as the “CCPA.”
This Policy supplements the FREELANCER Privacy Policy and applies only to California residents.
FREELANCER does not sell, rent, trade, solicit, or voluntarily disclose the personal information of its passengers, members, Partner-Chauffeurs, applicants, or business partners. Personal information will be disclosed only when required by a valid court order, subpoena, warrant, or other binding legal process, or when necessary to provide requested services through authorized service providers operating under confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
2. RIGHT TO OPT OUT OF SALE OR SHARING
California residents have the right to direct a qualifying business not to sell or share their personal information.
For purposes of the CCPA:
“Sale” may include transferring personal information to another party for monetary or other valuable consideration.
“Sharing” generally refers to disclosing personal information to another party for cross-context behavioral advertising, whether or not money is exchanged.
FREELANCER does not sell personal information in exchange for direct monetary payment.
However, certain website technologies, advertising services, analytics providers, cookies, pixels, software development kits, or similar digital tools may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under California law, even when no money is exchanged.
California residents may opt out of these activities at any time.
3. PERSONAL INFORMATION THAT MAY BE INVOLVED
Depending upon how an individual interacts with the FREELANCER website, mobile applications, reservation platform, membership services, or other digital services, the categories of personal information involved in a sale or sharing determination may include:
Internet Protocol address;
Device identifiers;
Browser type and settings;
Cookie identifiers;
Mobile advertising identifiers;
Website activity and browsing behavior;
Pages viewed and links selected;
Interaction with advertisements or digital content;
Approximate geographic location;
Reservation or service-interest information;
Inferences relating to service preferences or interests; and
Other internet, electronic-network, or device-activity information.
FREELANCER does not authorize third parties to use payment-card information, government identification numbers, account passwords, biometric credentials, or precise passenger transportation information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
4. HOW TO SUBMIT AN OPT-OUT REQUEST
California residents may submit a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information through any method made available by FREELANCER, including:
A. Website Privacy-Control Link
Select the following link wherever it appears on the FREELANCER website:
DO NOT SELL OR SHARE MY PERSONAL INFORMATION
The link may open a privacy-preference center through which the individual may disable nonessential cookies, targeted-advertising technologies, or other applicable tracking tools.
B. Cookie or Privacy-Preference Center
Visitors may select Cookie Settings, Privacy Preferences, or a similarly identified control displayed on the FREELANCER website and disable the categories marked:
Targeted Advertising;
Advertising Cookies;
Cross-Context Behavioral Advertising;
Sale or Sharing of Personal Information; or
Similar nonessential tracking categories.
Essential technologies required for website security, fraud prevention, reservation processing, authentication, account access, payment processing, and basic website operation may remain active.
C. Privacy Request Form
A California resident may submit an opt-out request through the FREELANCER California Privacy Request Form available on the website.
D. Written Request
A request may also be submitted to:
Freelancer LLC Attention: Privacy Compliance
9891 Irvine Center Drive
Suite 200
Irvine, California 92618
Email: support@freelancedrivers.com
The request should state:
“California Request to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing.”
Individuals should not send Social Security numbers, full payment-card numbers, account passwords, photographs of identification documents, or other unnecessary sensitive information when submitting an opt-out request.
5. GLOBAL PRIVACY CONTROL AND OPT-OUT PREFERENCE SIGNALS
FREELANCER recognizes qualifying browser-based opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control, as required by applicable California law.
When a valid signal is received, FREELANCER will treat the signal as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information associated with the browser or device transmitting the signal.
When the individual is signed into a FREELANCER account and applicable law requires account-level treatment, FREELANCER may apply the request to the account when the signal can reasonably be connected to that account.
Because opt-out signals may operate at the browser or device level, individuals may need to activate the signal separately on each browser, device, mobile application, or digital platform they use.
Clearing browser cookies, changing devices, using a different browser, or reinstalling an application may affect previously saved privacy preferences.
6. NO ACCOUNT REQUIRED
A California resident is not required to create a FREELANCER account to submit an opt-out request.
FREELANCER will not require identity verification beyond what is reasonably necessary to process a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
We may request limited information when necessary to identify the applicable browser, device, account, or consumer record and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized requests.
7. AUTHORIZED AGENTS
A California resident may designate an authorized agent to submit an opt-out request on the resident’s behalf.
FREELANCER may require the authorized agent to provide reasonable evidence that the agent has permission to act for the California resident.
FREELANCER may also contact the resident directly to confirm that authorization was provided, except when the authorized agent holds a valid power of attorney that satisfies applicable California law.
Authorized-agent requests may be submitted through the same privacy-request methods described in this Policy.
8. EFFECT OF AN OPT-OUT REQUEST
After an applicable opt-out request has been processed, FREELANCER will take reasonable steps to discontinue the sale or sharing of the requesting individual’s personal information as required by California law.
An opt-out request will not prevent FREELANCER from collecting, using, retaining, or disclosing personal information when reasonably necessary to:
Provide requested transportation or reservation services;
Create or maintain an account;
Process payments and refunds;
Verify passenger or Partner-Chauffeur identity;
Protect account and platform security;
Detect fraud, misuse, or unlawful activity;
Maintain operational and vehicle safety;
Provide customer or technical support;
Comply with legal, regulatory, insurance, licensing, or recordkeeping obligations;
Complete transactions requested by the individual;
Maintain and improve FREELANCER services;
Perform internal analytics that do not constitute sale or sharing;
Protect the rights, property, and safety of FREELANCER, its passengers, Partner-Chauffeurs, personnel, and the public; or
Perform another activity permitted under applicable law.
Opting out of sale or sharing does not cancel a reservation, passenger account, Partner-Chauffeur membership, employment application, business relationship, or other FREELANCER service.
9. RIGHT TO LIMIT USE OF SENSITIVE PERSONAL INFORMATION
California residents may have the right to direct a qualifying business to limit certain uses or disclosures of sensitive personal information when that information is used for purposes beyond those permitted by California law.
Sensitive personal information may include certain government identifiers, account credentials, precise geolocation, financial-account information, biometric information, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, health information, sexual-orientation information, and the contents of certain private communications.
FREELANCER may collect sensitive personal information when reasonably necessary to provide secure executive-mobility services, process reservations and payments, verify identity, conduct Partner-Chauffeur onboarding, prevent fraud, protect passengers, comply with transportation regulations, or perform other legally permitted business functions.
FREELANCER does not use or disclose sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about an individual except as permitted or required by law.
Where the right to limit applies, California residents may submit a request by selecting:
LIMIT THE USE OF MY SENSITIVE PERSONAL INFORMATION
or by using the contact methods provided in this Policy.
10. CHILDREN AND MINORS
FREELANCER does not knowingly sell or share the personal information of individuals under 16 years of age without the affirmative authorization required by California law.
FREELANCER does not intentionally direct behavioral advertising to children.
A parent or legal guardian who believes that a minor’s personal information has been collected, sold, or shared improperly should contact FREELANCER through the privacy-request methods identified in this Policy.
FREELANCER may take reasonable steps to verify the identity and authority of the parent or legal guardian before acting upon the request.
11. NONDISCRIMINATION
FREELANCER will not unlawfully discriminate against a California resident for exercising rights provided under the CCPA.
Exercising a privacy right will not, by itself, result in:
Denial of FREELANCER services;
Different service quality;
Unlawful differences in prices or rates;
Retaliation against a passenger, Partner-Chauffeur, applicant, or business contact; or
Any other treatment prohibited by California law.
FREELANCER may offer lawful programs, benefits, service arrangements, or financial incentives when those programs satisfy applicable legal requirements and are reasonably related to the value of the participating individual’s information.
12. OPTING BACK IN
An individual who previously opted out may later choose to authorize the sale or sharing of personal information by changing the individual’s privacy preferences or submitting a clear request to opt back in.
FREELANCER will not request authorization to sell or share personal information again for at least 12 months after an opt-out request unless the individual initiates the request or applicable law permits otherwise.
13. REQUEST PROCESSING
FREELANCER will process valid opt-out requests as soon as commercially reasonable and within the period required by applicable law.
The individual’s browser, device, account, or website interface may display confirmation that the request has been received or processed.
Some third-party technologies may require additional time to recognize updated privacy preferences. Information disclosed before an opt-out request was processed may remain subject to the receiving party’s legal obligations and data-retention practices.
14. THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES AND SERVICES
The FREELANCER website or mobile applications may contain links to third-party websites, payment processors, mapping services, transportation-service providers, social-media platforms, app stores, or other independently operated services.
Those third parties maintain their own privacy practices and controls. FREELANCER does not control the privacy practices of independently operated third-party websites or services.
Individuals should review the privacy policies and opt-out procedures of each third party they choose to access.
15. PRIVACY-PROTECTIVE DESIGN
The FREELANCER Executive Mobility Experience is designed around controlled access, professional discretion, service integrity, and respect for personal space.
FREELANCER seeks to collect and retain only the personal information reasonably necessary to:
Deliver requested services;
Protect passengers and Partner-Chauffeurs;
Maintain platform security;
Satisfy transportation, insurance, licensing, and legal obligations; and
Preserve the quality and reliability expected from the FREELANCER brand.
Privacy is not treated merely as a website setting. It is a continuing responsibility within the FREELANCER service experience.
16. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
FREELANCER may revise this California Privacy Opt-Out Policy to reflect changes in law, regulation, technology, platform operations, service offerings, or privacy practices.
The revised Policy will be posted on the FREELANCER website with an updated “Last Updated” date.
Material changes may also be communicated through the website, mobile application, account notification, email, or another reasonable method.
